Polyvagal Massage
Polyvagal massage is a vagus nerve stimulation therapy. The vagus nerve (from the Latin nervus vagus – wandering nerve) is the longest nerve in the human body and influences a person’s emotional balance. It reaches vital organs in the body. Its nerve fibers send information from the intestines to the brain, and the others are responsible for the functioning of the heart, lungs and kidneys.

Stimulation of the vagus nerve contributes significantly to improved health. The goal of polyvagal massage – developed on the basis of Dr. Steven Porges’ polyvagal theory – is to bring the body into a state of deep relaxation and harmonize the two pathways of the vagus nerve: the dorsal (state of danger, fear) and ventral (sense of security). The treatment covers the areas of the vagus nerve pathway, removes emotional tensions, brings relief and lightness to the body.
